Artichoke approached us about working on their Lumiere project in Durham. As well as creating a trailer, funding and artist films, we created a wrap-up film of the event.
Artichoke were looking for a new direction, a more cinematic approach to what they had in previous years. We proposed our idea of capturing more human emotions, a different style of filming the installations and a more planned and narrative driven piece of work, like we were shooting a short film.
We spent 4 days filming the festival in Durham on a very cold November week. It was great to see the city and community come together though. Plus the fish and chips were pretty tasty.
